Organic Stories coated fabric production process
Organic Stories coated fabric production process
Today, we would like to speak about the production process for the coated fabric of the Organic Stories product range. Organic Stories is a zero waste brand with high quality organic cotton lifestyle products.
We are quite excited about this product range as we think lots of our zero waste shops will love them! For example, the produce weigh bags with imprinted weights for your pasta or rice. For sure, those will be ideal for customers to buy their staples. We also get a really good response to the spaghetti bags by Organic Stories. Again, they have the word SPAGHETTI imprinted.
However, today, we would like to give you some further information about the coated fabric products. Here, we have the spinning, weaving and also printing process.
Spinning
The journey starts with Sathya (pictured as main photo of this blog post) who has been working in this spinning mill over 2 years. She ensures that the loom operates correctly so the cotton yarn rolls onto the cones without any breakage.
Weaving
Next step is the weaving process where Rajesh will ensure that the fabric is woven correctly with no faults.
Printing
Once the fabric has been woven, it is then printed using GOTS certified non-hazardous inks.
The printing mill reuses 99% of all waste water so there is almost zero discharge.
Boo, who has 3 and a half years’ experience in the printing department ensures that the colours and artwork meet the standards and customer requirements.
After printing, this fabric is then coated with a GOTS approved coating to ensure its water repellent.
